What is the purpose of this initiative?
This online experience is designed to foster a dialogue on health care affordability in communities across America. In building the website, the goal of the nonpartisan National Issues Forums Institute (NIFI) is to help people share their stories about the cost of health care, and to read other people’s, so they can see how the issue has affected people across the United States.

Why should I participate?

To find a solution to the problem of rising health care costs, we all need to play a part by getting involved. By talking together we can begin to find a way to ensure that health care is affordable.

How will the information generated here, including shared stories, be used, or disseminated?
Workbook responses will be gathered and analyzed so NIFI can understand people’s perspectives on the issue. Our findings will then be sent to politicians and others to help them make the best decisions on health-care affordability.

Shared stories will be made available on the website and may be included in NIFI and/or Kettering Foundation communications. We will only make stories public with your permission. You can find our full privacy policy in the Important Notices part of this site.

Will the material generated be available for a period of time, or indefinitely online?
Your story will only be made public with your permission. If you decide to make your story public it may be added to the “Shared Stories Area” of this website and may also be included in National Issues Forums Institute communications or reports. This website will remain live until December 2009.

What is the privacy policy of this study?
We follow a comprehensive privacy policy for this study and are committed to protecting your privacy and the confidentiality of the information that you provide. For additional information, please consult our Important Notices.
